Immortals have been forced to withdraw from the North American closed qualifier for EPICENTER due to their roster issues, HLTV.org has learned.
The PGL Major Krakow runners-up had been due to face Liquid in Group A's Winners' match after defeating CLG 2-1 - with Vito "kNgV-" Giuseppe stepping in for the final two maps of the series after team coach Rafael "zakk" Fernandes had played the first.
However, with kNgV- no longer tied to Immortals, and Henrique "HEN1" Teles and Lucas "LUCAS1" Teles having requested to be moved to the bench, the Brazilian team have informed the EPICENTER organisers that they can no longer field the majority of the roster that was submitted for the qualifier - resulting in immediate disqualification.
Liquid have been awarded a walkover victory over Immortals and will thus advance to the playoffs, while the elimination match, between Luminosity and CLG, will determine the team who finish second in the group.
Immortals, who are currently ranked 8th in the world, are due to play their next official match on September 28, against CLG, in the fourth week of ESL Pro League fixtures.
